As responsible pet owners, access to affordable pet care is an issue that can keep us up at night. And for many, the daily pressure from the high cost of living and pet care can lead to questions of whether they can keep their friend or forced to surrender them. The DC metro area lacks an effective safety net and there is an immediate need for programs that reach pet owners both at the time of a crisis and before then.
